WELL, AIN’T THIS a first-class hoot?
I’m talking about the declared presidential candidates. The Democrats have the old, white, filthy-rich One-Percenter, dinosaur Hillary Clinton and the socialist Bernie Sanders, an old white guy.
The Republicans, so far, have two Latinos (Cruz and Rubio), an actual black guy (Carson), a young, white guy (Paul) and a woman (Carley Fiorina). The GOP is the party of diversity.
The Democrats are so yesterday.
Oh, the irony.
I like Carson. I like the socialist Bernie Sanders a lot. Titles mean nothing. Sanders is intelligent, his own man, and stands for many things that the title socialist have little to do with. Like it or not, the US system is more of a socialist state than a republican state anyway. Why not run the institutions that are socialist in a reform minded manner and get it over with. Besides, he really prefers to be called an Independent.

Laurie: Sanders says himself that he’s socialist. Anyway, he’s got squat chance of being president. I stuck him in the post due to his being the sole other declared candidate on the Democratic side.

Let’s not forget Jeb, who, like Felipe Zapata, married a Mexicana.

Ms. Shoes: But Jeb has not announced. Unless it slipped right by me, which is possible. In any event, the White House needs another Bush like it needs another Clinton, which is to say not at all.

The Washington Post notes the GOP’s lineup so far that swims in the seas of trendy, but unintentional, diversity.

Just when does one stop becoming Cuban or Mexican? In Arizona we have had two Governors that were born in Mexico. However, in news articles written about the late Governor Raul Castro, the press called him Arizona’s only Hispanic governor.
But Jack Williams, who Castro ran against, was born in Guaymas. Castro was born in Cananea.
I suspect it is more a question of political affiliation, or just not wanting to do the research.
We have had more female governors than most states, but the press only remembers the Democrats.

AND I just saw that Mike Huckabee threw his hat in the race too! Should be an interesting GOP lineup.
Have you seen the cartel’s actions in & around Puerto Vallarta? Glad I’m not there right now.
Have a great day, Felipe!

Mike: Though I think Huckabee is right about most things, I cannot see him winning the nomination. The GOP needs to step away from the full-blown Bible-thumpers (Santorum is another) even though one of them would be a world’s improvement over Barry.

However ethnically diverse they may be…there is not a single qualified candidate among them…we don’t need to rely on affirmative action when electing a president…

Charles — What are you basing your comment on? I’d really like to know what makes you an expert on their qualifications.

Mike: Charles is an Obama man, so no Republican can be qualified.

Mike: I have read nothing on any of the current field of Republican candidates that convinces me of their leadership abilities…most have quite a narrow view of the world as most of us know it…and I do follow and read their statements on a regular basis…maybe you have information that I am not privy to…if so please share. Felipe: Obama has proven himself in many areas…in spite of FAUX News…he is well-liked and respected by many Americans and much of the world…yourself excepted of course…

Charles – Your reply tells me all I need to know about you. You are closed minded already and your mind is made up, so I will stay silent and end this back and forth. Goodbye.
Felipe – Have a great night!

and I find that most Democrats just talk over you if they don’t agree with you. . .or call you a bigot, or some other choice name. they can usually never present hard facts or a rational argument. Best not to waste my breath & typing skills on them.

Mike: Lamentably, our side is guilty of much the same things, which is why arguing politics is an useless game.
And what happened to staying silent and ending the back and forth?
