  4. As you know, my predictions were way off — most likely because of my large reservations about Trump’s basic philosophy on free trade. The winter of our discontent may be over. The only question is whether we have pulled Edward IV or Richard III out of the bag. But I am going to hope for the best — that the three Republican parties will actually come together to enhance liberty.

  6. It’s great to see the red states prevail being the only ones with any common sense and value. Now the real hard work begins for the man, who has to fight against all the inset crap in DC. It is an impossible job. Hopefully, he can get something accomplished. Nice to see the pompous Demos cringe for a change. Nice speech, a man obviously loves his country not like the current president.

  8. Frankly, THIS is the most important outcome of the election:

    Putin sent a telegram to Trump on Wednesday morning expressing “his hope they can work together toward the end of the crisis in Russian-American relations, as well address the pressing issues of the international agenda and the search for effective responses to global security challenges.”

    WWIII averted. Humanity should breathe a sigh of relief.

    1. Carole: I am a bit pessimistic about what he can actually do. We shall see. It is a yuuuuge step in the right direction, in both senses of the word.

      There was talk some weeks back of Trump appointing Trey Goudy as attorney general. Boy, would that be sweet!

      2. I want to see Rudy Giuliani as Attorney General. He seems to think HRC can be prosecuted. And if Comey is right, she’ll prevail at the end with a not-guilty verdict.

        And with hundreds of millions at her disposal, she should be able to mount an effective defense.

        Surely she will want to clear her name, no?

          1. I was unimpressed with the fact that at the Comey hearing, Goudy could not muster the argument that to prosecute mishandling of classified information did not require proving intent. Surely he should have reviewed the relevant statute ahead of time, and surely he should have reviewed some relevant cases. Instead, he just fulminated. I’d like an AG who’s more prepared. Giuliani seems to be the man.

  12. This was real funny to me: Yahoo had a live broadcast featuring Katie Couric, Matt Bai and a couple of other lefty commentators. As the evening went on, they became more and more frustrated with the potential outcome. Around 1 a.m. the discussion turned to HRC’s credibility and honesty and they were asking each other, “What was really wrong with her?” Then the coverage switched to Trump’s location where the crowd was chanting LOCK HER UP!

    2. I’ve never seen Judy Woodruff and the crew at PBS look as crestfallen as they did on election night. Their totally obvious lack of objectivity was sadly comical.

        1. Yes, the media has come out looking about as pathetic as you can possibly imagine. And on election eve, they were seemingly dumbfounded that Trump could win. And they explored every possible angle as to why, except the obvious — people didn’t want to vote for a deeply corrupt tool of the status quo. That explanation somehow escaped them.

  14. Things are going to get interesting and colorful up here north of the border. It could turn out very well for us in a few years when we do finally return to retire in Mexico.

    1. Ah, Rosalind, would that it were so. Never happen. Neither that global common sense will rise nor that I will move north of the frontera.

      The appeal of socialism in whatever form will ever be immense to the unsuccessful (give me what others have worked for), and when they have the right to vote, they will always be pandered to by those who want that vote. The U.S. Democrat Party does that. The GOP too but to a far, far lesser extent.

      Weepy Barry is all about socialism because he actually believes in it. Hillary was about it more than she was in the past because she too wanted those votes.

      It’s one of the basic problems with democracy.

      ObamaCare is a massive take-from-successful-and-give-to-unsuccessful scheme. And is it not working as planned.

      As for my moving over the frontera again, hoo-boy, not a chance in the world. I like it down here so much. Not only will I not move back, I’m not even going to visit. America must carry on without me.
