A nation gone mad

Brought down by a politically correct control tower. Courtesy of the Obama Administration.

NO, I’M NOT referring to the fact that Mexico likely will soon elect to the presidency a guy who goes by his initials AMLO. I’m referring to the United States.

Apparently, this has been going on for a while, but it only came to my attention recently. The U.S. federal government, during the Obama administration, changed the rules for hiring air-traffic controllers.

While the primary goal previously was hiring the most talented applicants, the main goal now is to bring diversity into the control tower. Too many air-traffic controllers were white men. The horror!

Whenever affirmative action enters a process, quality suffers. While this is not so critical when it’s done in universities or corporate offices, doing it with air-traffic controllers is nincompoopery on a stunning level.

While political correctness in the United States has become so overboard that one wearies of rolling one’s eyeballs, this action takes potential consequences to new, stellar heights. This nonsense, as this sort of insanity invariably does, comes to you from the Democrat Party.

Next time you’re flying into Chicago’s O’Hare Airport, know that it may be Maxine Water’s previously unemployed grandson who’s guiding the pilot on final approach. And as the fireball races down the aisle, rest easy in the knowledge that racial injustice from two centuries ago has finally been corrected.

Watch the video. The situation’s actually worse than I’ve indicated.

  1. OK then. Excuse me while I get myself an airline ticket to somewhere.
I would not blame Obamamama completely. He just extended the attitude already in existence during his tenure. Bless his heart. On the other hand, the winner of the Nobel prize should be more aware of citizen safety.
Just leaves me warm and fuzzy all over.

      1. I apologize. Never should have mentioned that Nobel thing.

I will forever have a different attitude about Nobel since that happened. I regard it as just more PC behavior. I will never excuse it.

        1. Ricardo: Let us not overlook Bob Dylan getting the Literature Prize. Clearly, the Nobel committee now is made up entirely of aging hippies smoking weed. We can disregard them completely.

  2. I thank all the Gods and Goddesses that I never had to be exposed to or live in such a society as there is NOB now. What happened to the work ethic that built the U.S. and made it so successful even through the wars and upheavals it has experienced? Respect has gone down the toilet and all that is left is the left’s gimme and entitled culture. Can’t even have a “calm” conversation with people without someone going off the rails about something political or saving the entire world from itself. They just live in and for the problems rather than a solution. Bitch, bitch, bitch.

    1. Peggy: I cling to the notion that the majority of Americans remain sane. Problem is that the minority who don’t are in important places, influential places.

It’s a good time not to be there.

  3. “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.”

    I guess it didn’t happen.

  4. This kind of thing is extremely corrosive because it casts doubt on the competence of people of color in positions of of high technical skill and/or responsibility. Right? Every competent minority air traffic controller is now under a shadow of doubt that s/he is actually fit for the job. And this then perpetuates racism, creating exactly the opposite of the desired outcome.

        1. Actually, the comment above was meant for the post where we debated Spanish vs English words that shouldn’t exist.

  5. I am afraid we will see an ugly response to affirmative action in South Africa. Just because someone has the title and paycheck of an mining engineer, does not mean that they can really do the job. If South Africa does eliminate the white professional class, I am afraid those mines will flood, and that will be a disaster for the whole world.

They do not want to eliminate whites just yet. This tells us that they will eventually.
