Stealing sweet words

THE LEFT IS remarkably talented at stealing and misusing nice words. The most egregious example of this is how they have convinced almost everyone to refer to them as “liberals,” something they decidedly are not.

Using the classic, accurate definition of liberal, I am one and proud of it.

This Prager U video does excellent work in showing the actual chasm between Western leftists and bona fide liberals. Leftists are not “progressive” either, but they have also convinced almost everyone that they are.

Many of the Prager U videos have been banned from YouTube, which is owned by Google, which is run by bogus liberals, i.e. leftists. Real liberals oppose censorship. Bogus liberals embrace it with a vengeance. Sad.

  1. Isn’t there an incident in Alice In Wonderland where someone talks about words meaning whatever the speaker wants them to mean? You just have to show them who’s boss.

      1. “When I use a word,” Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, “it means just what I choose it to mean — neither more nor less.”

“The question is,” said Alice, “whether you can make words mean so many different things.”

“The question is,” said Humpty Dumpty, “which is to be master — that’s all.”

I have used it in many a legal brief.

  2. The word “Liberal” has been co-opted by various political parties for various purposes. I don’t even know what it means anymore. Like the word, “gay.”

    1. Brent: Well, you Canucks have your Liberal Party, which I know nothing about except it’s been around a long time. Liberal in the U.S., as mentioned, has been stolen by leftists. Classical liberals are as Prager describes them. And if you don’t know what gay means, well, I’m not sure what we’re gonna do with you!

      1. I just remember that my Mom was furious that homosexuals co-opted the word “gay.”

You may not be aware of it, but our famous blackface Justin Trudeau is in the midst of a crisis based on a pipeline and a bunch of Greta-inspired anarchists dedicated to bringing Canada to its knees. This is why I like going to foreign countries like Mexico.

        1. Brent: Well, it’s true. They did kinda ruin gay for the rest of us. But that’s okay because we can call them queer again. They’ve brought it into fashion. Isn’t that wonderful?

As for your boy Justin, whenever bad things happen to him, it pastes a smile on my face.

  3. Classical libertarians were the original liberals — forming their own distinct political party in Britain supporting free trade and reforms to level opportunities in society. Their precursors were the Whigs. Liberty was their byword.

American liberals were closely linked to that philosophy — one of the best examples was the Happy Warrior himself: Hubert Humphrey. They were advocates of a capitalist America that could improve the lot of American society and were advocates of a muscular foreign policy backed by a strong military defense. It is odd to remember that in the 1960 primary election, Jack Kennedy was a moderately conservative Democrat while Humphrey carried the liberal banner.

Liberals were adamantly anti-Communist. It was Humphrey who called out the leftist Wallaceites at the 1948 convention. I can only imagine how saddened both Humphrey and Kennedy would feel about the Democrat smorgasbord this year. Of course, I am not very happy with the potential November choice, either.

    Color me libertarian-conservative.

And thanks for the interesting video.

    1. Señor Cotton: So we’ve gone from Humpty to Humphrey, have we? My parents loved Hubert. He sure wanted to be president and almost was, but close don’t count, as they say.

As for the re-election of Trump this fall, fall off the fence. Take sides. People on the fence just have to dodge bricks thrown from both ends. Sad.

  4. President Trump will be speaking at the Veterans’ Memorial Colosseum in Phoenix tomorrow. I would like to go, but right now, we are staying away from crowds. Hopefully, it will be on television or the internet.

The Left throws words and accusations around until they lose their real meaning. They can call me a racist, a homophobe, a Nazi or any other term they like. I don’t care. I don’t care. I really don’t care.

    1. Señor Gill: Even if Trump’s speech is not televised live, it will all be on YouTube soon after, the wonder of modern technology.

As for the Leftists calling you names, you may not care, but they sure do.
