Capital nincompoop

This is a fun one. You’re gonna like it.

Nincompoop and ignoramus are about the only verbal put-downs I rely on. Stronger stuff runs rampant on the internet, but not here where decorum reigns. But I love my two put-downs, and it’s a pleasure when I see others use them, especially the first one. And it’s even more enjoyable when it’s my favorite news channel, Sky News Australia.

This brief video has Rita Panahi, a delightful broadcaster, taking Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez behind the proverbial shed for a really good and much-deserved whupping. AOC is a textbook example of the downside of universal suffrage. Nincompoop hardly touches the level of her, well, you know. She’s a Democrat, of course. The party should be quite proud.

One cannot watch AOC and not think of Bill Maher’s recent observation that America is now a nation of silly people. And you would be hard-pressed to find a sillier one than AOC.

Nation of silly people

In the early 1990s, when I was still a Democrat, I watched Bill Maher’s TV show, Politically Incorrect, when I visited my mother in Atlanta. I liked Maher, and I liked the name of his show. Even when I was a Democrat, I considered political correctness horrendous.

And now PC is the bedrock of the Democrat Party.

When I wised up in 2008 and abandoned the Democrat Party, which I now correctly call the Democrat Socialist Party, I continued to see Maher online now and then. He considers himself a classical liberal and often criticizes today’s Democrat Socialists, which is smart, but he also badmouths Trump, which is ignorant.

Though primarily a leftist, Maher is often a fence-sitter. He straddles it with one leg in the Democrat Party and the other in a sea of common sense. One side is rank and smelly while the other side is clear thinking and sunshine.

But he sometimes hits topics on the nail head, which he does in this video. For years, I have called America a nation of spoiled people, folks who’ve never faced an existential threat in their lives, people who do not know history.

Maher is at times humorous and potty-mouthed (because he’s a Democrat) in the video, but what he’s saying is serious as a cemetery. And true.

Mohammedan myth

MEET BEN SHAPIRO, a conservative Jew, both religiously and politically. He’s one of my favorite fellows, a political activist, pundit and writer for the Right Side.

He’s the Honcho of the online news site, Truth Revolt, which is an arm of the David Horowitz Freedom Center, a conservative think tank.

Shapiro is young, fearless and incredibly articulate. Now and then, he inexplicably is invited to speak at an elite university, and much of the student body and faculty, whom Shapiro refers to as “snowflakes,”  go stark, raving insane.

They throw things. They scream. They holler. They toss red paint to represent blood. They foam at the mouth.

They heave their plushy bears out of their playpens.

And Shapiro, unfazed, keeps on speaking through it all.

This common reaction on campuses today highlights the hilarious irony of the left’s referring to Donald Trump as dangerous, a man who incites violence.

The left-wing Democrat Party is all about violence, either verbal or both physical and verbal.

True, Trump increasingly says that pushing back is justified, and he is correct. The Jews of 1930s Europe did not push back, and remember how that ended for them.

The increasing political violence in the United States began on the left, and it’s growing daily. It’s the left that abhors free speech, not the conservatives. It’s the left that shouts down contrary opinions, not the conservatives.

Were Bill Ayers to be invited to speak at one of the very few conservative campuses, he would be listened to politely or, more likely, he would be ignored.

He would not be physically threatened or even bellowed at because conservatives are polite people.

Today, Shapiro is addressing the myth that most Mohammedans are peaceful or — more correctly — that most do not harbor radical, violent attitudes.

While it is true that most do not actually murder “the infidels” or even stone women of their own religion, most do think it’s a real swell idea much of the time.

The backlash

BILL MAHER, a left-wing goombah who’s sometimes smart, said last week that the Trump phenomenon is a backlash against the absurdities of political correctness.

Precisely. That and some other things too.

The backlash is also happening in Europe, and that puts a smile on my face. I want to invite all these bright, young people to the Hacienda for a pozole party. BYOB.

Leftists don’t really want multiculturalism and diversity. They want a global uni-culture where everybody thinks alike.

Just like them, of course. Their perfect world can be seen on university campuses where contrary opinions are shouted down and monkey trials are the rage, literally.

One wonders when they’ll take up goose-stepping.
