This mad world

(The following was written by Andrew Torba, founder and CEO of Gab.com, one of the first free-speech alternatives to Facebook, Twitter and their ilk. Torba lives somewhere in a rural area with his family due to the “tolerant” left’s incredibly relentless effort to take him out.)

How can you think straight and make rational decisions when each and every day you hear conflicting and contradictory information from “authoritative” sources? You can’t. No one can. That’s the whole point. That’s why the powers that be are doing this.

Welcome to the secular hell of a post-truth world.

We don’t need to wear masks. No wait, now we do. Hold up, now we need to wear two masks. We can stop wearing masks now. Surprise! We need to wear masks again. Actually, it turns out masks aren’t as effective as we thought.

We just need 15 days to slow the spread. Now we need a month. Maybe a year. Never mind, we didn’t need to lockdown at all, and it caused more harm than good.

Don’t take any vaccine that Donald Trump rushed to market. You didn’t get the vaccine? Are you nuts? The vaccine is highly effective. Oops, it looks like highly vaccinated Israel is having a major outbreak. Get the vaccine or lose your job.

Are you keeping up? This is the reality of living in a post-truth world.

They want us shell-shocked with rapidly changing information overload which leads to option-paralysis and fear. When people are in a state of fear coupled with option-paralysis they are very susceptible to manipulation and easy to control.

While we are all dazed and confused, they are destroying families, small businesses and entire nations. They are rigging elections. They are botching troop withdrawals to flood Western countries with refugees. The American border is being invaded by hundreds of thousands of people.

They are buying up single-family homes and pricing you out of the market. They are printing endless money and inflating your currency.

They are transferring trillions of dollars in wealth to themselves and shutting up every last voice of dissent while doing it.

All the while, you worry about a virus that statistically you have a 98% chance of surviving with the immune system God gave you.

By design, it’s exhausting and impossible to keep up with. It’s meant to drain you mentally, physically, and spiritually so that you submit to their control. Don’t.

In the post-truth world, anything goes. Chaos reigns. Those who create the chaos manifest their means of control. Do not comply. Do not give them one inch. Stand your ground. Hold the line.

Nadia and Simon

I watch YouTube a lot because it contains an incredible amount of interesting stuff, and included in that are excellent, smart people. I prefer short videos because I’ve developed a USA Today attitude, which is to say hop to it, and get to the point.

Above is New York Nadia whom I just recently discovered. She gets directly to the point, and her points are first-rate. In this video, she tells feminists not to be horses’ butts, but in nicer words.

And, as regulars here know, I am also a big fan of Simon Webb, a brilliant, English historian and author with a delightfully bushy, British mustache. I wish I could grow a Limey mustache like that, but I don’t have the upper lip for it.

Webb looks here at the sad situation in which the politically correct British government has allowed Speaker’s Corner in London, a place where anyone could speak his mind about anything, to be gagged so as not to offend the sensibilities of Mohammedans, whom the Brits have stupidly permitted to enter their once-peaceful nation in droves.

Speaker’s Corner has existed since the 19th century. Free speech reigned. Multiculturalism now reigns, and the most menacing new cultures determine what can be said, who can open his mouth. Simon’s not quite as succinct as Nadia. His videos usually last about six minutes compared to Nadia’s two or three.

In closing, here’s another of Nadia’s in which she takes to task Chicago’s Mayor Lori Lightfoot who is a black, race-obsessed lesbian in a biracial relationship, which is the PC Trifecta and therefore immune from criticism, but not to Nadia. Lightfoot is, of course, a Democrat mayor, one of the worst, which is saying something.

The leftist thugs who run YouTube regularly censor Simon Webb. I haven’t been following Nadia long enough to know if her pinpoint observations receive the same treatment.

Healthcare options

This video from PragerU offers good advice on at least beginning to get the American healthcare system in order. I offer it to you as a public service.

The Unseen Moon is all about caring.

PragerU videos, usually about five minutes long, are often blocked by leftist YouTube censors because, one supposes, they are a danger to Western Civilization even though Dennis Prager is a practicing, conservative Jew. One video that YouTube banned was on the Ten Commandments. Go figger. If you are a practicing Christian or Jew, and you vote for the Democrat Socialist Party, it’s time for serious introspection.

When I worked on the Houston Chronicle, I had health insurance supplied through the job. It was no big deal. When I made a doctor or dental visit, I supplied my info to the receptionist and, at times, paid a small deductible, and that was the end of it.

Simpler times from over two decades ago.

When I retired on December 19, 1999, the coverage continued for the four weeks I remained in the United States before it faded away. It was a grace period that gave me time to find other coverage, but I did not bother.

When I landed in Mexico, I had no health insurance, and I gave it little thought because I was busy with other things, a new life. I lived in the state capital for eight months before moving up the mountainside. I had been brainwashed in the United States into thinking living without medical coverage was nuts, so I enrolled in government healthcare, a system known by its initials IMSS. I paid for one year. It was dirt cheap by U.S. standards.

But you have to use IMSS facilities, and I noticed in that year that the mountaintop IMSS clinic was neither a place I would want to be hospitalized nor a facility I would visit for doctor appointments. There were lines.*

For the rare doctor visit during that first year, I utilized the private sector and was very pleased. When the IMSS coverage expired, I did not renew. I never used IMSS even once. Oddly, I used it just last month for a free flu shot because my regular source at Star Medica in the state capital did not have the vaccine this year, a first.

Blame the Kung Flu hysteria.

I have been without health insurance for the past 20 years if you don’t count our enrolling in a free government plan for about three years, something I did just to provide my wife with peace of mind. We never used it either, and our doofus Mexican president has ended it, promising to replace it with something better, but that hasn’t happened.

Shortly after taking office two years ago, he promised a great government healthcare system “like Canada’s.” Thank God, like so many of his promises, he never followed through. Doofuses are like that, you know.

If I have a medical problem, I make a next-day, or even the same day, appointment at one of a number of excellent options here on the mountaintop or at the nearby state capital. I pay out of pocket. Most excellent doctors, dentists and even specialists here charge the peso equivalent of about $35 for a consult that can include minor procedures.

You need an X-ray? Just walk into a laboratory, get it done on the spot, and pay about $12. The privately owned labs also do blood work and similar stuff.

The video demonstrates well the problem with healthcare coverage above the border. I am so glad I don’t live up there anymore for that and plenty of other reasons.

* Our mountaintop IMSS clinic was given a major upgrade three or four years ago, and it’s far better now.

Quitting crack cocaine

I’ve created and deleted Facebook accounts four or five times over the years. I just deleted the most recent, and I hope I possess the moral fiber to stop altogether, to not be drawn back like a toothless, crackhead skank on a dark, rainy, ghetto street corner.

What prompted the latest deletion? The video above. It’s one of Tucker Carlson’s better videos, and that is saying a lot because his programs are superlative.

That so many otherwise intelligent people, and I’m referring to the politically conservative, stubbornly embrace their FB pages (or Twitter accounts) is disturbing, but I understand why. I was there. The crafty Big Tech giants have developed a powerful cocaine. The cocaine makes you go there, keeps you there, and then uses and abuses you till you’ve dropped a third of your body weight, and your teeth are brown and rotten. And you smell bad.

The cocaine makes you go there, keeps you there, and then uses and abuses you.

Having a Facebook or Twitter account is enabling them because their power is based solely on the massive number of accounts they possess. Without accounts, they would fade away like Myspace, Excite.com and Netscape Navigator, all of which still exist but are sad shadows of their former selves.

Tucker is discussing Big Tech power and censorship, and what it’s doing with and to us, all of which is more important now that they are corrupting the American electoral system while addressing congressional hearings with straight faces.

There are Facebook and Twitter alternatives that are growing significantly. For Twitter, go to Gab instead. For Facebook, go to MeWe. Parler is being hyped as an alternative to them both. I opened a Parler account, but find the daily sign-in process too ponderous.

Better to go to Gab in part due to its working smoothly but, more so, due to the outrageous attacks it has suffered since its birth in 2016. The propaganda campaign launched by Big Tech has been astounding. Currently, you cannot send money to Gab via PayPal, nor can you use a credit card. Gab cannot be monetized in any way because it’s all been blocked by Big Tech thugs. The only way to financially assist Gab is by personal check or Bitcoin.

The leftist attack on Gab extends to the personal accounts of its founder and CEO Andrew Torba, a devout Christian whose family credit cards have been canceled by Big Tech, all because Gab embraces free speech. You can say anything on Gab that is not illegal.

This drives the censors of Big Tech bonkers, and Gab grows bigger by the day, especially since this month’s election fraud. Due to the initial propaganda that Gab was a social media dedicated to Nazis and other unsavory sorts, Gab fairly recently made it possible to view the website before joining. That was not the case at the get-go, likely a bad decision.

I do little on Gab, but it’s good to provide moral support by opening an account, and to not provide moral support to internet mammoths like Facebook, though I know you will justify your staying put. It’s where all your buds are. Family too.

I have been there. But now I am clean. In short time, my weight will return to normal, my breath will smell fresher, and my eyes will clear up.
