The Oppression Olympics

The Moon strives to uplift society, bring enlightenment to the masses, clarity to the confused, joy to the disgruntled, relief to the chained. One route to this is education, much of which can be found online in our modern world.

Here is one example, two smart fellows who, like myself, once were Democrat voters, but clarity descended upon them. I hope that clarity will descend upon you too because I care.

Perhaps it already has. It’s a lovely feeling.

Grey’s diversity

Every afternoon after lunch, we sit in the recliners for a little relax while watching Grey’s Anatomy, a TV series that apparently will never end, on Netflix. It’s in its 16th or 17th season with more to come. For contrast, Friends lasted 10 years, and Seinfeld ran for nine.

It has been accurately noted that neither Friends nor Seinfeld could be produced today due to political correctness and the Democrat/Socialist Party’s Cancel Culture and proclivity for actual violence. So what about Grey’s Anatomy which debuted in the fairly sane year of 2005? It’s astounding what it’s morphed into.

Diversity was not such an obsession in 2005 although the series began with some black characters and an Asian, which was totally realistic. Here at the Hacienda, we’ve just started the 16th season and, although the story lines are quite interesting, the characters and relationships are laughably unbelievable.

It’s well known that Showbiz hysterically promotes interracial couples as the norm and that gays are about 50 percent of the population. Everyone is accustomed to that while we simultaneously roll our eyeballs. But Grey’s Anatomy takes it to stratospheric levels.

About 90 percent of relationships, primarily the patients in Gray+Sloan Memorial, are multiracial, and some are multiracial and simultaneously gay or lesbian. Recently, a black woman with no husband in sight gave birth to a white baby.

Yes, it does get that silly.

The scriptwriters simultaneously and none-too-subtly toss anti-GOP slurs into the show. And there is frequent genuflecting to climate change, gun control, the usual suspects.

No matter. It’s fun to watch, and we’ll see it through, assuming it will ever end. And one must give credit to Ellen Pompeo, the show’s main star, for actually walking the walk. Her real-life husband is black and, of course, her three children are biracial.

Power to ’em, but it’s hardly the norm her show promotes.

While we are relentlessly told these days that multiculturalism and diversity are how things should be in a just world, the fact of the matter is quite the contrary as Simon Webb, one of The Moon’s contributing editors, demonstrated last month right here.

Lesbians with penises

Decorum.

Since The Moon‘s debut over a decade ago and even with its six-year predecessor, The Zapata Tales, there has existed a principal theme, and that has been Decorum on an almost Victorian-era level.

We don’t cuss here, and we do not brawl with others. There is quite enough of that in other corners of cyberspace. Let them be nasty. Here we are always polite, clean and presentable.

At least for today, however, we are putting that aside. Look at the headline. Good grief! But with the ongoing collapse of the Caucasian quarters of Western Civilization, exceptions must be made if we’re to address the disaster honestly, head-on.

And who can do that better than The Moon‘s new contributing editor Simon Webb? He is British, of course, and it is in Britain where leftist lunacy soars above similar lunacy in other nations.

When I was in the news game, in another lifetime, those of us in the newsroom often commented among ourselves that the nuttiest news items almost invariably came from the wacky Brits.

Let us attempt to encapsulate modern leftist lunacy’s many aspects. It embraces old-style Marxism and communism as in redistribution of income, “free” stuff from government, high taxes and governmental overreach/meddling.

Stirred into that is political correctness, the modern sex craziness, the gender crackpottery, the endless “offense” that leftists feel, the inability to accept contrary opinions.

And the ensuing censorship and actual violence.

Plus, there is the twisting of word definitions. Boris Johnson, the British prime minister, belongs to the Conservative Party though there is nothing conservative about 10 Downing Street these days. It is Stalin-esque. Leftists refer to themselves, as does almost everyone, as liberals and progressives when they are precisely the contrary.

Goebbels is nodding his head.

But today we are focusing on gender crackpottery. Just when you thought it could not get sillier, we have the phenomenon, at least in Great Britain, of — drumroll here — lesbians with penises.

I’ll leave it to Simon Webb to fill you in on the details.

The face of multiculturalism

Praise of multiculturalism is a subset of the political-correctness phenomenon in which we’ve lived for the past few decades in the historically Caucasian zones of the globe. Scarcely anyone today dares to call it into question. Do so at your peril.

Any school, business, government or formal organization worth its salt now includes in its mission statement its firm devotion to diversity, which is another word for multiculturalism, though “diversity” tends to focus a bit more on race than culture alone.

I have, for many years, pointed out that history clearly shows that promoting multiculturalism almost invariably leads to mayhem and murder. Multiculturalism is a problem to be addressed, not something to be encouraged. At least, if you know what is good for you.

Promoting diversity goes hand in hand with ignorance of history.

I have found a partner in my yearslong dedication to criticizing the promotion of multiculturalism: the brilliant British historian Simon Webb, he of the glorious mustache.

In the video he runs through some textbook examples over the past century in which multiculturalism went tragically wrong. I offer this to you as an educational service. Pass it along.
