Why I left the Democrats

fat
Sports Illustrated “model.”

AND WHY YOU should do the same.

It started for me in 2007 when it came to light that the Obamas had sat for 20 years in the church of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, he of the “Goddamn America” sermon. Wright was quickly muzzled by Obama’s handlers.

It went downhill from there between me and the Democrat Party for which my entire family had proudly voted for decades.

There was Political Correctness, that ham-fisted ideology that blossomed in the 1990s and just got worse. Later, the lunacy kicked in. Putting fat gals in the Swimsuit Edition of Sports Illustrated in the name of “equality.” Obesity is a serious health issue, not something to be glorified. Obesity isn’t just another valid lifestyle choice.

And there is Cancel Culture. Share our opinion or be fired. From the disturbing, it’s descended into madness. Take Aunt Jemima off the syrup jar. Change the names of sports teams. Don black clothing and masks to march and riot in the streets.

Can’t dress like Pancho Villa for Halloween unless you’re Mexican. Actors can’t play disabled people in movies unless they are themselves disabled.

Last night at the restarting of the NBA games, every player and coach on both teams, 100 percent, took to their knees before the national anthem, thumbing their noses at the flag of the nation that made them wealthy and privileged.

Conservatives are squelched online by Big Tech. Black Lives Matter — which consists to a great degree of white leftists whose aim is Marxism, a word they wisely removed from their website not long ago — still laughably states on its website:

We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family.

The film classic Gone With the Wind is blocked from online streaming. Statues are toppled, not just of Gen. Robert E. Lee but the Great Emancipator Abraham Lincoln himself, which demonstrates a dizzying level of ignorance.

And nincompoopery.

The owners of a Michigan Bed & Breakfast were browbeaten recently into removing a Norwegian flag outside their business because it resembles a Confederate flag.

Defund the police! Imbecilic.

Speaking of nincompoopery, here’s a very smart and brave girl who goes by Cringe Panda online. Her internet fame has skyrocketed since the first of the year. Watch her address the appalling state of public education.

No need to watch the entire thing. The first five minutes will educate you.

All of the above and much more flows totally from the left side of the political divide, those people who vote Democrat. All of it, 100 percent.

And if you are unaware of the things I mentioned, consider finding news sources other than The New York Times, Washington Post, Huffpost and MSNBC.

You’re being duped.

If you are aware of the things I mentioned, and you still vote Democrat, that is far worse, and I’m ashamed of you. But let’s move on to:

JOE BIDEN

The presumed Democrat presidential nominee is that hated thing, an old white man, and decades-long political hack. How did this happen?

It happened because actual Democrat voters, most of whom are not Marxists, participated in the primary elections, and apparently grass-roots Democrats were not happy with the radical choices they saw on the debate stages. Every Democrat, for instance, raised a hand when asked if they supported “free” healthcare for illegal aliens. Even Joe.

Voters opted for the old shoe they knew, smelly as it is.

Tulsi Gabbard, the best of the sorry lot, would have shot her candidacy skyward had she the bravery to leave her hand down to the question of healthcare for illegals. The move would have stuck out like the proverbial sore thumb but in a positive way. She killed her chances with that one raise of the arm.

She was the only one who had a prayer of beating Trump.

Biden is old, older than Trump, and plainly has cognitive issues which makes his vice-presidential choice far more important than usual. If you vote for Biden in November, know that you’re actually voting for the vice president to be president.

He will nominate a radical woman “of color” because the leftist party bosses have him by the short hairs. He’ll do anything to be president. He’d get on all fours and bark.

Take a close look at the vice-presidential nominee, and think hard about how Democrats are running cities and states these days. The riots, lawlessness, Antifa, BLM, high taxes, vagrancy, high-priced housing, tent cities, and so on.

Again, if you’re unaware of these things, consider finding news sources other than The New York Times, Washington Post, Huffpost and MSNBC.

You’re being duped.

Consider doing what I did in 2007: Leave the Democrat Party.

The grass is greener

I CHANGED political affiliations in 2007. Blame Barry Obama and Rev. Jeremiah Wright. As some folks have said, I did not leave the Democrat Party. The Democrat Party left me.

I am ever amazed at the quantity of otherwise intelligent people who have not seen the light. Why, even blacks, that most-brainwashed of the U.S. citizenry, are coming to their senses and leaping the fence. Bless Candace Owens. I hope I live long enough to see her as the first real black president. First woman too.

As I’ve mentioned numerous times, I come from a sizable pack of Democrats. My last ex-wife, if memory serves, was a Bernie fan in 2016. She emailed me a few months ago asking what I saw in Trump. She seemed genuinely perplexed. I gave her a few reasons why and asked why she was not a Trump fan. Got no answer.

For her birthday last December, I sent her a MAGA cap. No reaction to that either. Maybe it was poached by porch pirates. I hear that happens above the border.

A friend sent the following visuals yesterday. Enjoy. And consider jumping the fence to the right side if you haven’t already done so. And don’t sit on the fence, which is just as bad, perhaps worse. This is no time for waffling. Be brave. We’d love to have you.

Those sleazy Republicans

I WAS BORN a Democrat. My parents were politically obsessed Democrats. My sister is one. My daughter is one. Both my ex-wives are Democrats. My grandparents, on both sides, were Democrats too. I was swimming in a Democrat Sea.

I was content with that. It made sense. Until …

I jumped the fence in 2007, but it had been brewing for years due to two things: First, the ballooning effects of Political Correctness back to the early 1990s. Political Correctness is a cultural cancer, the love child of Democrats, not Republicans. Second, the election of Barry Obama, but it was one element of his campaign that kicked me in the teeth.

That element was Rev. Jeremiah Wright and the revelation early in Barry’s 2007 campaign that Barry and Michelle had spent years sitting in a front-row pew of Wright’s anti-American, race-hate church. When Wright’s famous “God damn America” videos came to light early in the campaign, the action was swift and Draconian. Wright disappeared or, perhaps more accurately, was disappeared. Remember that?

It was my “Ah-Ha!” moment.

It was akin to those Stalin photos where political opponents were eliminated from the crowd. Wright was eliminated. And Americans, full of self-righteousness, elected their “first black president,” proving forever that racism was not in their hearts.

Except Obama is not black. He is biracial, as much white as black.

But that’s another, related, issue. America continues to delude itself. The nation still has to elect its first black president. Maybe one day. Likely be a Republican.

For the first time in my life I would have voted Republican. John McCain and Sarah Palin. Alas, some glitch in the absentee voting process kept me from voting that year. I was totally on board with McCain but in doubt about Palin. That has totally reversed. McCain turned out to be a vindictive turncoat, and Palin is a joy to behold.

Love that gal.

Like most Democrats I was largely ignorant of the two parties’ history. I was a newspaper guy! How did that happen? Because I was a newspaper guy. That’s how. The media have been inbred leftists for a long, long time.

And I was one.

But Democrats were the party of slavery, the Klan, Jim Crow, voter suppression and school segregation. Republicans were the party of emancipation, equal rights, school integration and the death of Jim Crow. Republicans today are about liberty and individualism. Democrats are about victimization and heavy-handed government.

Here are two five-minute videos from the great YouTube channel PragerU. The woman speaking is Carol Swain, a Vanderbilt University professor of political science and law. I know you leftists won’t watch because they are “inconvenient truths,” but you conservatives will enjoy them very much. Feel good about yourselves.

Democrats anonymous

ballot
Felipe’s first GOP ballot, ready Friday for the mailbox.

HELLO, MY name is Felipe, and I’m a recovered Democrat.

(Audience: Hi, Felipe!)

I was a Democrat for over 60 years. I’d like to blame it on my parents, especially my father who was a flaming socialist, but I think more than anything, I simply was ignorant.

I childishly believed we live in a world that can be perfected. I believed in the efficacy of collectivism, and that government basically worked in our best interests.

(Audience: Howling laughter!)

Yes, I know how silly that sounds, and I am so ashamed that it took me decades to kick the Democrat habit.

I know now that government is good only for basics like protecting our borders, forming police forces, building interstate highways, and so on.

In most areas, government does things badly.

(Audience: Right on, Felipe!)

I’m proud to tell you that this year, at the age of 72, I voted Republican for the first time.

(Audience: Wild cheering!)

I had begun to doubt the Democrat Party in 2008 after learning of Barry Obama’s 20 years of sitting in his Chicago pew listening to the rants of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, especially when Wright “damned America.”

We all know how fast the Democrat Party muzzled Jeremiah Wright. I sat out the 2008 presidential election.

By 2012, Barry Obama’s colors were blatantly obvious. I would have cast my first Republican vote that year, but the absentee ballot never made it to my mountaintop.

The ballot came this year. I checked the straight GOP ticket, and sent it Friday by registered mail.

(Audience: More wild cheering!)

Yes, I voted for Donald Trump!

(Audience: Goes berserk. Men stomp feet. Women weep.)

(Moderator: Thank you for sharing, Felipe. And now let’s all move to the rear of the hall for donuts and coffee.)*

* The coffee and donuts turned out to be stale, but I hear it’s always that way.
